Investments
Agtechs in Latin America raised R$1.23 billion in 2023.
This information was published in the "Startup Landscape" report by the open innovation network Liga Ventures, in partnership with Bunge and Hub CNA Digital (National Confederation of Agriculture).
And, although the value seems significant, it was 33% lower than the previous year. Brazilian agtechs received 71% of the amount (R$882 million).
Brazil also has the largest number of active startups in the sector, followed by Argentina (5%), Mexico (4%), Colombia (4%) and Chile (3%), considering the 977 agtechs mapped by the study.
And 2024? Expectations for the year are for growth, especially in M&A.
SaaS LATAM
This month, the State of SaaS LatAm 2024 report was released, which presents the evolution of this segment in the region, analyzing the business structure in several areas, such as customer acquisition and retention, financial, commercial aspects and the application of Artificial Intelligence in business.
The study is a very important benchmark for Founders and executives who work with the SaaS business model.
And, with aggregated data from more than 400 companies in Latin America, we highlight that founders of SaaS startups in Latin America:
1️⃣ Perform miracles with limited resources;
2️⃣ Are on top of US growth rate benchmarks and quickly catching up to global ARR growth rate benchmarks, with impressive growth by leveraging operational efficiency;
3️⃣ They are retention champions compared to global averages (lower turnover and higher NDR);
4️⃣ Prioritize sustainable acquisition strategies from the beginning, focusing on efficiency in indicators such as LTV/CAC, in addition to being more conservative regarding CAC return times than US founders.
State of SaaS LatAm 2024 was developed by a strong cast in technology, sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and partners such as HubSpot, Cubo Itaú, Pingback, Startups, Clicksign and Endeavor.
